And Then There Were None Test on Wednesday.  Re-writes for short stories must be in by Thursday.  If you do a re-write, you must turn in your original draft with the grading rubric still attached.

In class: We took the Vocab Test and finished And Then There Were None.

Homework: Test on novel on Wednesday! 

May 22, 2008 (Thursday)

In class: We presented our book projects, discussed ch. 15, and reviewed vocab words from the novel.

Homework: Read ch. 16 and complete study guide.  Vocab 16 Test tomorrow.  Test on novel Wednesday. 

May 21, 2008 (Wednesday)

In class:  We took the Verbals Test, collected Writer's Craft textbooks, and discussed ch. 14.

Homework: Book Projects due tomorrow.  Vocab 15 Test on Friday.  Read ch. 15 and complete study guide tonight. 

May 20, 2008 (Tuesday)

In class: We finished our review of verbals, discussed ch. 13, and corrected Vocab Unit 15.

Homework: Verbals Test tomorrow.  Book Projects due Thursday.  Vocab 15 Test Friday. 

May 19, 2008 (Monday)

In class: We reviewed infinitives and participles, discussed ch. 12, and read about Agatha Christie.

Homework: Vocab 15 due tomorrow.  Verbals Test on Wednesday. Book Projects due Thursday. 

May 16, 2008 (Friday)

In class: We corrected our grammar review packet from Wednesday, finished the vocab for ch. 1-8 of the novel, and discussed ch. 11.

Homework: Read ch. 12 and complete study guide.  Vocab 15 due Tuesday.  Verbals Test on Wednesday.  Book Project due Thursday. 

 

May 15, 2008 (Thursday)

In class: We identified gerunds and their uses.  Then we discussed ch. 9-10 and worked on vocab words for the novel.

Homework: Final draft of short story due tomorrow.  You must have it printed before you come to class to receive full credit.  Do not procrastinate!  Read ch. 11 and complete study guide. 

May 13, 2008 (Tuesday)

In class: We discussed ch. 7 and 8, reviewed punctuation rules for dialogue, and revised our short stories.

Homework: Final Draft of short story must be turned by Friday with the peer review and the rough draft.  Read ch. 9 tonight and complete study guide. 

May 12, 2008 (Monday)

In class: We worked on identifying participles and the nouns that they modify (Writer's Craft pp. 599-600).  Then we continued typing the rough drafts of the short stories.

Homework: You must have a hard copy and an electronic copy of your short story rough draft for class tomorrow.  Your hard copy must be printed BEFORE class begins.  The hard copy and the electronic copy are worth 10 points!  Read ch. 8 and complete study guide.
