OKLAHOMA!

January 15th and 16th, from 3:30-5:00, the Expressive Arts Team will be holding a clinic for the Spring musical, OKLAHOMA! We will be teaching students how to audition, what songs will be used for auditions, and tips for having a successful audition. Please mark your calendars to be at one of the clinics. Auditions will be a couple of weeks after. More information will come after we return from winter break.

To you and your family and friends, a happy, healthy, peaceful holiday season. Be safe, and see you in 2008.

What’s Happening in 7th Grade:
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live in a perfect world? A world where there is no war, no disease, and no worries about paying the bills. Our seventh graders are reading about this perfect world in Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World. We are learning that even in this “perfect” world there is a disadvantage.... the loss of personal freedom. Students will explore the governmental structure of this society, identify direct and indirect characterization, and evaluate the concept of happiness.
Students are working on unit 5 in their Vocabulary Workshop text; they are studying the definitions, synonyms, and antonyms every night to help their Jeopardy teams achieve a high score.
