extra credit
Science - Oct. 19
Submitted by Ms Yocus on Fri, 2007-10-19 15:04.There is another NOVA special coming up that students can watch for extra credit in science.  The program is:
"Saved By the Sun"
It airs on October 23 at 8pm on public television. To earn extra credit students need to watch the show, take notes, and then type up a 1-2 page summary of what they learned. They need to include the title of the show, the day and time it aired as well as the start and end times.
Science - Extra Credit
Submitted by Ms Yocus on Thu, 2007-09-27 06:49.We are so fortunate to have the Adler Planetarium right here in Chicago. The planetarium offers many classes for kids as well as some facinating family workshops.  Your child can get extra credit by attending one of these.  After the class or workshop, they should show me what they did. They also need to have the instructor sign one of their papers or worksheets. That's it!Â

Science Extra Credit
Submitted by Ms Yocus on Fri, 2007-09-07 15:28.To review the material we learned about the moon, students may go to the following web site. They should read everything carefully, click on and do all three activities and then complete the quiz. They need to put their name AND class period into the box where it says name. Once they finish the quiz, they need to print out their results. This printed page is the proof that they did the extra credit. The score tells me how carefully they attended to the activity. I will accept this extra credit assignment up until Wednesday, Sept. 1. If you do not have internet access at home, they may come to the computer lab any day before school (please write them a note giving them permission to enter the building early!) and do this activity.
Enjoy!
