10/15 - 10/19 Reading/Skills-LA

Reading and Skills - This week we are continuing to read the short story called "The Monkey's Paw," by W.W. Jacobs, which is filled with foreshadowed events. Students are enjoying identifying these events and using them to predict the outcome of this suspenseful story. Each student should continue to read their independent reading books and should be finished by 10/19.

10/15 - Hmwk: Read 30 minutes (finish independent reading book by 10/19), "Monkey's Paw" Questions page 1

10/16 - Hmwk: Read 30 minutes (finish independent reading book by 10/19), "Monkey's Paw" Questions page 2

10/17 - Hmwk: Read 30 minutes (finish independent reading book by 10/19), "Monkey's Paw" advertisement due 10/23 

10/18 - LIBRARY DAY (8th grade students may work on alternative material)

10/19 - SHORT STORY PLAY FIELD TRIP (7th grade students have a special field trip and 8th graders will have a chance to work on homework during class.)

Language Arts - We will be continuing our Capitalization Unit, working on our Vocabulary Unit 2 work, and beginning our 6 Traits of Writing curriculum with an emphasis on IDEAS.

10/15 - HMWK: Vocab Unit 2-Section 3. Rewrite "Horses" to get a 5 or 6.

10/16 - HMWK: Vocab Unit 2-Section 4. Write your own version of "The Important Book" due on Thursday

10/17 - HMWK: Vocab Unit 2- Section 5. Version of "The Important Book" due on Thursday.

10/18 - HMWK: Vocab Unit 2 TEST on Monday. CAPITALIZATION p. 111/112

10/19 - SHORT STORY PLAY FIELD TRIP TO CONCORDIA UNIVERSITYÂ
