Week of 09/17-09/21

Reading:

Monday: 09-17 - We will begin work on Unit One of our vocabulary book and then discuss and practice writing for the upcoming test on the story "Nadia the Willful."

Homework:  Review the story "Nadia the Willfull."  Pay attention to characters, the setting, and the moral of the story.

Tuesday: 09-18 - **EARLY RELEASE**  Test on the story "Nadia the Willfull."

Wednesday: 09-19 - We will continue work on Unit One of the vocabulary book; Completing Sentences.  We will begin reading our next short story, "The School Play."

Homework: Vocabulary book- Unit One: Completing Sentences

Thursday: 09-20 - We will finish reading and discuss the story "The School Play," and continue work in the vocabulary book on Unit One with antonyms and synonyms.

Friday: 09-21 - Reading Logs due today! We continue our discussion of "The School Play," students will have handouts to complete.  In the vocabulary book, unit one, choosing the right word.

Science:

Monday: 09-17 - Students will continue working in groups to complete their atmosphere drawing

Homework: Begin reviewing for quiz on the different layers of the atmosphere and their specific features.  Quiz is scheduled for Wednesday, September 19th.

Tuesday: 09-18 - **EARLY RELEASE** Students will analyze the different temperature readings between sand and water when placed under a heat source for a specific amount of time.  Students will begin charting their data by creating a line graph.

Homework: Finish plotting all data points for both sand and water.  Study for quiz on the layers of the atmosphere and each layers specific features.

Wednesday: 09-19 - Quiz on the layers of the atmosphere.  Students will analyze their sand and water data and answer questions in small groups.

Homework: Review section 1-1 of their Chapter one packet.  Chapter One test on Monday, September 24.

Thursday: 09-20 - Students will complete and go over the Chapter One review in their textbooks which includes multiple choice, true & false, concept maps, and short essay questions. 

Homework: Review section 1-2 of their Chapter One packet.  Chapter One test on Monday, September 24.

Friday: 09-21 - Chapter One review trivia game.

Homework: Review section 1-3 & 1-4 of their Chapter One packet.  Chapter One test on Monday, September 24.
