End of year units

Next week we will wrap up our look at the different body systems by looking at actual systems working together during a short frog dissection unit.  The students will work in pairs to respectfully dissect frogs, looking at the interaction of different organs.
We will then end the year by discussing the reproductive system.  The students will learn the parts of both the male and female anatomy, the development of a zygote into a baby, and any legitimate student questions will be answered.
Before the students may begin the unit, they must get parental permission.  The students were sent home with a form letting parents know what will be covered in this unit, and what options they have for the child. If a parent chooses to not have his or her child take part in this unit, then they will do an independent study activity, which will take a look at other human anatomy.  The parent permission form, indicating that their child may or may not participate in this final unit, is due on Tuesday, May 20th.
