Week of 4/28/08

6th GRADE
Students have learned the basics of perspective, and are working on their own perspective drawing.  We will start learning about Leonardo DaVinci and the Renaissance as we finish up on this perspective drawing, and will start a unit on ceramics next.

7th GRADE
A small quiz on the ceramics terms will be taken on Tues… while the ceramic projects are in the kiln being fired.  Students will start Monday on our next project that will introduce commercial art and the design process.

8th VIDEO TECH:
The quiz on Video and TV history is done – any student who received an “A” or “B” on the quiz will be able to check out a video camera after school to work on their upcoming PSA video.

8th FILM STUDIES:
We have finished on our second complete movie screening “To Kill a Mockingbird”, and students turned in their film log sheet – on which they write their observations and reactions to the movie.  We had some good discussions about the meaning of the story and the symbols in the story, after which we started on our next movie, “Singin’ In The Rain”.  Students will be taking a test on film history soon, and will be starting a paper after our current movie is done.
