Week of April 21st
6th GRADE
Students are creating their final figure drawings this week, and then will go on to learn the basics of perspective, and then try out the things they learn on their own perspective drawing.
7th GRADE
Students have designed their functional container, and started in on the construction. We will learn about the slab and coil construction methods, as well as the lexicon that ceramicists use. There will be a small quiz on the ceramics term coming soon!
8th VIDEO TECH:
The quiz on Video and TV history is on Monday, after which students will finish up their shots for their first video project. So far, everybody seems to be picking up on the terminology and video shooting techniques very well.
8th FILM STUDIES:
The flipbook assignment that is due Mon. 21st – students received a rubric that contains all the info for this first project. We have finished on our first complete movie screening (Charlie Chaplins’ Modern Times), and students turned in their first film log sheet – on which they write their observations and reactions to the movies that we watch. We have started watching the movie “To Kill a Mockingbird”, a classic which is set during the same time period as “Modern Times”.
