Welcome! This September, I will begin to share my excitement about this year's Rebecca Caudill Young Readers' Book Award nominees with our students through booktalks. The Caudill Award is given each year to the author of the book voted most outstanding by students in grades four through eight in participating Illinois schools. It is given in honor of Rebecca Caudill, an author from Appalachia who lived and wrote in Urbana, Illinois for almost 50 years. This year's outstanding titles represent some of the best writing in children's literature.
