Week of 8/30/10

WELCOME BACK!  Or welcome, as the case may be!  Please check back every once in awhile to see what has been going on in the art room lately.  The school year has started off very smoothly, and all classes are at work on their first projects.  Right now, the 6th graders have finished their folders, and are starting on figure drawings, the 7th graders have finished their UpSide Down drawings, and have started on a commercial art unit.  The 8th graders have started a scratch art composition - all of which are starting to look very nice.

Week of June 1st - and Artwork pick up!

Well, the end of the year is here, and it is time to wrap things up!  8th graders will just have a couple of days here this week, and I know that there is still some 8th grade artwork that has not been picked up.  There is still time to pick up 8th grade artwork Tuesday and Wednesday after school, but that will be your last chance!  7th grade and 6th grade artwork will be passed back this week for those who are in art classes, and any day after school this week is fine for all students to come in and pick up artwork that they would like to keep.  Over the summer I will store as much artwork

8TH GRADE ART

Attention all 8th graders - and 8th grade parents...  Please make sure you pick up any artwork you have here at Lincoln Hall by this Friday 29th.  Artwork which is being displayed at the Village Hall will taken down Thursday so that it can be picked up on Friday the 29th.  All other artwork can be picked up any time this week - just stop by after school.  Make sure you stop by the art room this Friday though!  Thanks!

Week of 5/24/10

BEYOND THE BASICS!!!

The School District #74 Art Show at the Village Hall is up - and it looks great!  I know I am biased, but I think the Village Hall has never looked better.

Week of 4/26/10

This is the busiest time of year!  The SD #74 Art Show, the Spring musical, field trips, it's all happening now...  Both the 6th and 7th graders are plunging into ceramics, with the 6th grade making a figure sculpture, and the 7th graders making a functional container.  The 8th  grade is learning about film, it's narrative structure, how directors create symbolism and theme, and watching "Singin in the Rain" at the moment.  We had an awesome field trip with the WLH students to Northwestern University to visit their broadcasting and film/radio dept.
