ALL STUDENTS HAVE RECEIVED THEIR SOCIAL STUDIES TEXTBOOKS.  Textbooks should remain at home at are used for homework and references.

 

Parents, check to make sure your child has brought their Social Studies textbook home.

Early North America/European Explorers

This week Students will learn about Early North American history including the Native Americans.  Then we will begin learning about Christopher Columbus and the other European Explorers.

Monday: Review 5 Themes of Geography

Tuesday: Early North America packet (in class)

Wednesday: Early North America Packet (in class)

Thursday: Note taking practice.  HW: (Big) book- Read/Notes p. 68-72  (Little) book-Read/Notes p. 6-11

Citizenship Test

World War II week of 4/5

Welcome back from Spring Break.

 

We are starting our unit on World War II.  Homework for this week is below

Wednesday: Read section 1, take notes:  P. 774-777 (Big Book); P. 340-344 (Little)

Thursday: Answer questions:  p. 777 3-5 (Big); p.  348 1-2 (Little)

Friday: Essay Paragraph.  Write a paragraph explaining why you think so many people were willing to reject democracy and turn to  dictators in the 1930's.

Social Studies week of 2/15

Monday:  No School!

Tuesday: Pass back old HW; reveiw nationalism, discuss causes of WWI

Wednesday: Continue causes of war-Short-term/Long-term causes;

HW:  Read and take notes: p. 691-694 (Stop after "Prepare to Fight section) Big Book;  p. 299-300 (stop after "Why America Entered WWI" section)  Little Book
