CLASSES

Math:  Quiz Monday on graph terms and basic graphing.  Quiz Tuesday on finding "y" and graphing.  Finishing the week introducing and practicing slopes.

U.S. History:  Ch. 27 quiz on Monday (in class and may use text and notes).  We will continue on with Ch. 28.

Week of April 7-11

Chorale Assembly- Friday

CLASSES

Math:  Students will continue learning about triangles and quadrilaterals.   On Tuesday there will be a quiz on classifying triangles.  On Friday there will be a quiz on identifying quadrilaterals.  Expect nightly homework.

U.S. History:  Students will complete the 1950's research on Monday.  On Wednesday we will begin Ch. 25 on Civil Rights.  Expect nightly homework.

Week of March 31- April 4

CLASSES

Math:  We will be starting a geometry unit this week. Homework will be nightly.  Check assignment notebooks.

U.S. History:  We will be reading about and discussing the events after WWII.  Homework will be nightly. Check assignment notebook.

Week of March 10-14

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Hurrah!  ISAT's are complete.  The students handled it very well.  If your child was absent, make-ups are this week.

Field trip on Thursday to see "Once on This Island" at Niles West.  A bag lunch is required.

CLASSES

Math:  This week we will be using percents in word problems and in real life situations such as, discounts and interest.  Check assignment notebook for homework.

U.S. History: This week students will learn about the attack on Pearl Harbor and D-Day.  Check assignment notebook for homework.

 

Week of February 18-22

CLASSES

Math:  This week the class will continue with ISAT review and begin a unit on proportions and percents.

U.S. History:  Students experienced an exciting and exhausting Immigration Day on February 14th. I am sure they appreciated the Early Release.  This week we will conclude WWI and then begin the Roaring 20's.

CLASSES

Math- This week we will finish our chapter on integer.  There will be a chapter test on Friday

 

U.S. History- This week we will read and discuss World War 1.  Students should have costumes completed for Immigration Day by Tuesday.

CLASSES

Math:  We will finish our fraction unit on Wednesday and will send home a unit test on Thursday.  We begin integers on Thursday.  Look for nightly homework listed in assignment notebooks.

 

Week of December 10-14

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Thursday is Early Release

CLASSES

U.S. History- We will spend the last two weeks before break on the Civil War.  We will cover chapter 11 in the text and I will provide supplemental materials.  There will be an open note test on Dec. 20-21 that covers the Civil War and slavery.  There will be nightly homework, check assignment notebooks.

 

Math- We will spend the week on prime factorization, greatest common factor and least common multiple.  There will be nightly homework, check assignment notebooks.
