Just a friendly reminder that the boys basketball season is just around the corner. Official tryout dates will be announced very soon, but keep January 7th, 2008 on the calender. This is the official day that we are able to start the basketball season. (The first day back from winter break)Â
Remember... all students interested in trying out for the team must have EKG results on file here at school along with an updated physical. (Physicals are only good for one year past the completion date.)Â
Stay tuned for more to come!Â
2nd Quarter PE 07-08
Submitted by Mr Raciti on Wed, 2007-11-14 10:37.   The 7th graders are now into the 2nd quarter! Whew! Time sure does fly!
All students will be rotating through three different units throughout the second quarter. Those units consist of basketball, floor hockey, and dance. Mr. Raciti and Mrs. Malartsik are currently in basketball, and Mr. Alesi's classes are participating in floor hockey.Â
Test your child's knowledge and see if they can tell you three different passes used in basketball!
Maybe they can explain to you what a wrist pass is in floor hockey!Â
The PE Team would like to wish everyone a healthy and safe holiday season!Â
First Quarter PE 07-08
Submitted by Mr Raciti on Wed, 2007-09-26 13:12.
The 7th graders at Lincoln Hall are currently participating in one of three different units which consist of either Physical fitness, Flag football, or Soccer.
Students are expected to participate in various activities that test and improve an individual's level of fitness in five different areas of fitness. Those fitness components consist of Muscular Strength, Muscular Enduarance, Cardiovascular Endurance, Flexibility, and Body Composition. Results from the tests are entered into a specialized fitness program called FitnessGram, which produces a printout of every student's individualized levels of fitness within the five components. Ask your child if they can tell you the five components of physical fitness!
Students participating in Flag Football will be learning and demonstrating various skills such as throwing, catching, and punting of the football. They will be tested on catching a lead pass along with punting a ball at least 15 yards in distance. Students will also be taking a written exam to test their knowledge of the game. Game play will be introduced after the introduction of skills and rules.  Ask your child if they can tell you what the line of scrimmage is!
