This Week in Science & Reading

Welcome to Mrs. Friedman's Science & Reading classes! I hope you had a terrific summer because it is going to be a great year. :)

Every week I will give you a brief summary about what we will be studying in both Science & Reading AND I will attach a weekly schedule that will include our agenda each day along with your homework for the week. :)

This week in SCIENCE you will learn all about the classroom rules, procedures, homework, quizzes, tests, extra credit, etc. Our first unit will be the Earth's Atmosphere, I think you will enjoy it! If you would like to see your work schedule for the week, click on the SCIENCE attachment below.

This Week In Reading & Science

This is it!! The final full week of school before summer vacation! :)

This week in Reading we will be wrapping up our poetry unit with a final test on Monday, June 2nd. If you would like to see what else is going on during the week, click on the Reading attachment below.

This Week In Reading & Science

This week in Reading we will continue with our Poetry Unit. We will be reading poems that focus on different forms such as haiku's, limericks, and concrete poems, along with some poetry that focuses on sounds devices such as repetition, alliterations, and onomatopeia's. This week in Science, students will have the opportunity to vote on how they want to end the school year. Be sure to listen closely to your options and choose wisely. If you would like to see your work schedule for the week, click on the Science attachment below.

This Week In Reading & Science

This week in Reading we are going to continue our Poetry Unit with poems such as The Walrus and the Carpenter, Simile:Willow and Ginkgo, Fame Is a Bee, and April Rain Song. If you would like to see your work schedule for the week, click on the Reading attachment below.

This week in Science will be our last Rocket Lab rotation. Be sure to come prepared to class with colored pencils, a ruler, and a good attitude. This Week In Reading & Science

This week in Reading we are going to continue our Poetry Unit. Tuesday, May 13th will be our last library day for the school year so be sure to check out a great book to read! If you would like to see your work schedule for the week, click on the Reading attachment below.

This Week In Reading & Science

This week in Reading we will be wrapping up the radio play, A Shipment of Mute Fate, with a test on Tuesday, May 6, 2008. Even though I said you can use your notes on this test, be sure to re-read the radio play one more time. There will also be a Unit 11 Vocabulary test on Friday, May 9, 2008. This Week In Reading & Science

Dinosaur research is over! Fantastic job done by all! This week in Reading we are going to focus on drama, especially radio plays. We will start this quick unit with listening to an old radio broadcast of the Radio Show "The Green Hornet." We also will begin our next Unit in our vocabulary books. This week in Science we will be wrapping up our unit on Stars & Galaxies. Your Chapter 1 packet is due Tuesday, April 29th and your Chapter 1 Test is Thursday, May 1st. If you would like to see your work schedule for the week, click on the Science attachment below.

This Week In Reading & Science

This week in Reading we will be finishing up our dinosaur research in the library with Ms. Murray. Everyone has been doing a nice job of staying on task and putting forth effort. Please remember that all six (6) source cards and your thirty (30) note cards are due this Friday, April 25th. This week in Science we are continuing our unit on Stas & Galaxies. Be sure to bring a shoebox with a lid to class on Tuesday, April 22nd so we can construct our Shoe box Constellations! If you would like to see your work schedule for the week, click on the Science attachment below.

This week in Reading we will be continuing our Dinosaur research in the library with Ms. Murray. This week you will get the chance to use the internet to check out some pretty cool dinosur websites to further help you with your research. This week in Science we are going to begin our unit on the Stars & Galaxies. Be sure to have your shoe box ready for next week when we create your Shoe Box Constellation. If you would like to see your work schedule for the week, click on the Science attachment below.

This Week In Reading & Science

This week in Reading we will be in the library with Ms. Murray, the librarian, beginning our dinosaur research. Remember to make sure you have enough note cards stashed in your research folder. Also make sure that you are reviewing your Unit Ten vocabulary words because your unit test is scheduled for Friday, April 11th.
