The week of March 31 - April 4:

All classes: Daily Oral Language (grammar)

Vocabulary (Orange Unit 5, Blue  6 or 7) 

Period 1/2 - Reading One Fat Summer.

Periods 4/5 and 7/8 - Reading Immigration related novels. 

EVERY CLASS -  Career Unit.  Students will use a computer program to take an interest inventory, then create a brochure and resume about their future career.

Hey! More easy extra points!

There are wonderful stories and poems in this book. If you want to read some of them independently over the winter break for EXTRA CREDIT please do so. Be prepared to have a short conversation with a teacher about what you've read in order to receive credit.

Vocabulary HW & Tests

Work on Orange Unit 5.  Most classes have been tested on words 1-20.  We will have the book publisher test the week of April 7th.

 

Blue - Begin studying Blue Unit 7

Hey! Easy Vocab Points!!!

Find a new word that is 1) interesting, 2) unknown to you, 3) probably unknown to your classmates. Teach the class the new word, its pronunciation, part of speech, and definition. Be creative in how you get the information across to the other students. Check word with Mrs. Kotrba first. 25 points each word, only one word a month per student.

Writing Extra credit

Laughing Write a one page account of your favorite book. 50 points.

READING NEWS

1.  Read your new immigration related book.


2.  Students should read at home 20-30 minutes a day, six or seven days a week.
